The h ZAG hunt was a community-based 'treasure hunt' where #BoomerSquad members worked together to put the pieces of the ZAG Litepaper together. It started off subtle. With the repurposing of a Twitter account transformed into our Zoomer, X Γ A-12, the game was set. The leadup to h this time was a little bit of lore explaining how we get to what we later discover is the Playground.
Some Boomers quickly noticed the Zoomer account interacting with our main @BoomerSquadNFT1 Twitter. At this time, they'd have no idea it would lead to the h hunt but those who knew it existed were a step ahead. We started easy this time. The opening sequence was reminiscent to the first h. A new channel was created named 'h' with a bot that would respond to !h with the letter h. Nothing else could be done here for a number of days.
We kicked off the hunt with a post from the X Γ A-12 Twitter account.
The hunt starts off with a piece of the first page of the ZAG Litepaper. With this tweet, we also unlocked a new channel - '8008'. This channel had a hint upon entering.
One of the commands was found fairly quickly, !ZAG. Typing !ZAG would randomly generate one of three YouTube links, as follows: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bw9CALKOvAI - HYUNA - 'Bubble Pop!' (Official Music Video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fDJXmqdN-A - I asked AI to make a Music Video... the results are trippy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ix7TUGVYIo - The Matrix Resurrections β Official Trailer 1
Now, we had a little bit of a snag here. First, I'll explain what happened. One of the members of the community, oOTNTOo, accidentally discovered the command required to gain the 'h' role which allowed them access to the next part of the hunt. They didn't notice at the time. ElderKarl, (don't worry, he has been sufficiently chastised by now), thought he was being helpful by advising everyone that someone had figured it out.
This, of course, allowed them to quickly track down who it was and what they had said to trigger the next portion, which unlocked the X Γ A-12 channel. Before we go further here, let me explain how you were supposed to come to the conclusion that the 2nd command was !101.
This one was supposed to take some thinking. The 3 videos all have 1 thing in common. The titles of the videos contain at least 1 boomer trait. "Bubble Pop", "Trippy", "Matrix". The name of the channel was another hint - 8008, meant to be a hint at 'the collection of boomers'. By using these 3 traits, you could narrow down the search filter to just 1 Boomer.
As mentioned, this was supposed to take some time to crack. I considered the possibility of someone accidentally guessing it, but figured there'd still be some time. The unlocked channel included another piece of the Litepaper as well as a link for a Discord invite to the h2 server.
This was a bit of a gaffe on my part. I tried to monitor the hunt as it went but finally had to get some sleep. Based on the progress people had made so far, I thought I was safe to be absent for a few hours. Unfortunately, I didn't take into account ElderKarl being SO helpful :)
I woke up to people anxiously attempting to crack the h2 server. It wasn't exactly fully locked - people could join it but couldn't see anything. I went ahead and unlocked it properly so that the hunt could continue.
Next up! The h2 discord server. By joining the h2 server, you were greeted only with a QR Code
This QR code led you to a hidden page on the Boomer Squad website, https://boomersquad.io/ZIGZAG (no longer active).
On this page was our new comic along with another piece of the Litepaper (if you were connected to the website and had a boomer in your wallet).
It also contained the following snippet:
This hint was meant to direct people to the GitBook (though it had already been found even without it). It was meant to guide you to the newly renamed "Boomerena" -> "Playground" with a sub page of 'h2'.
In the h2 subpage, the command !chowtime was written in the description and a piece of the Litepaper was provided.
The discord was set up basically as a trivia bot. Each time you correctly answered, you were granted a new role which unlocked the next section.
As you might expect, the !chowtime command opened up the chow-time1 channel (this was done with roles being generated by the bot for correct answers). Every time a 'category' was completed, a new "great-success" channel would unlock. I will list below all the questions/answers in order of room access:
In each new "great-success" channel that was unlocked, another piece of the Litepaper was revealed. In the last great-success channel, there was also a link provided: https://www.boomersquad.io/PGMint (no longer active).
This page contained only a single image along with a countdown timer.
If you connected your wallet on this page, a new button would appear in the form of a chat bubble above the old man. It said "Here you go!" and prompted a transaction. This was a mint contract and you would receive the POGT NFT token upon accepting the transaction.
I bet you think this is the part where we explain what the function of the POGT token is.
...
Anyways. The group was stalled at this time gated webpage. The link was spread and stragglers managed to catch up. Over 500 tokens were minted. I hope you all enjoyed the race so far :)
The countdown reached 00:00:00 at 8 PM EST of July 5th. The ability to mint the token was removed and the webpage was updated to include a new piece of the Litepaper. Along with a single word in blue text font: "chirp".
The blue "chirp" was, of course, a hint. At this time, ElderKarl started up an impromptu Twitter Space. For those who figured it out, the hint was pointing to join the space. During the space, ElderKarl tweeted out another piece of the Litepaper and also mentioned to everyone that if they had any questions about h, he wouldn't be able to help. But if they were really desperate, someone else could. 21 Million.
I have it on good account here that 21 Million was a bit overwhelmed with demands of h. Wisely, he quickly released the information the Boomers were looking for in the form of a tweet:
I worried here that the hunt might stall, but I should have known better! Our savvier boomers quickly took notice of 21 Million's tweet and off they were to Cronos Scan.
Searching up the address posted (0x925eff9e2db608e19c397c83cb438e3f19bcc3bf) led to the POGT NFT token mint contract. By tabbing over to the Comments section, you could find a post made by the BoomerSquad account - it was a simple word, hidden away, "POGT".
This was a hint to move forward to the POGT token contract (found on the same page).
In the comments of the POGT token, another post by the BoomerSquad account could be found. A simple hyperlinked h. This led to the final section of the race: the h3 discord.
Upon joining, you were greeted with another piece of the Litepaper in the "great-success1" channel. Listed below are the hints provided (which included the channel names themselves) and correlating answers to the 5 channels:
This discord was set up a little differently from the h2 discord. Rather than unlocking new channels after getting the the correct answer, you were simply assigned a new role each time. Combining all 5 correct answers lead our hunters to the Boomer motto... "Ok Boomer Time To Earn".
It wasn't long before someone typed the command !okboomertimetoearn - granting them the role "OkBoomerTimeToEarn".
This unlocked the final channel of this entire puzzle:
I'm no poet, so don't judge my choice of words. "Seek h, The First" - we awarded the role "h, The First" in our main discord server to Nyte for being the first to complete the original h hunt. But this wasn't publicly announced, so many likely didn't know. If that wasn't enough, this one was fairly straightforward. You were to simply read the first letter of each word.
"DM - NYTE - Say the words!"
In this case, the words were "OK Boomer, Time To Earn". Your last task was to DM Nyte the Boomer motto. He would then reply with a link directing everyone to the full Litepaper all pieced together.
I hope you all enjoyed this community hunt as our 2nd run through h. You guys sped through this one, good work! I'll be stepping my game up on the next one :)
